Don’t rely on a man, rely on God!

The sick man answered Him, “Sir I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”

John 5:7, NKJV

The man by the pool of Bethesda had a very frustrated existence, trying to get healed. He was relying on people for his healing. But even though he didn’t ask in faith, and even though he didn’t even know how to answer the question that Jesus asked, “Do you want to be made well.?” – He received mercy and was healed anyway.

Let’s stop waiting for a man to provide the power we need to live, to grow, to walk the vision that God has provided. God is able!

So unworthy, but God blesses us anyway!

This passage was so moving to me.

I was so foolish and ignorant;
I was like a beast before You.
Nevertheless I am continually with You;
You hold me by my right hand.
You will guide me with Your counsel,
And afterward receive me to glory. Psalm 73:22-24

If you read all of Psalm 73, you’ll get even more gracious truth out of it. But we often forget that even though we are unworthy of a blessing from God, He chooses to accept us and bless us, and doesn’t give us what our deeds deserve.

God is so worthy!
